VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION
IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR VIRTUAL VENT CAMP.

Want a PA Vent Camp Near and Far t-shirt to wear for Virtual Vent Camp! In order for us to send you a shirt (and for it to arrive in time for camp), please complete the virtual volunteer registration (button at the top of this page) by Saturday, June 20. All other shirts will be sent out as registration is received. Can't wait to see you online!
Our volunteers are medical and non-medical team members with a dedicated commitment to serving their community.  PA Vent Camp volunteers have a positive, can-do attitude and an abundance of patience and energy for the week they are at camp!  While we try to accept everyone who applies, space may be limited.  We will do our best to accommodate your interests and preferences, but please note that changes may occur at any time for any reason.

Also note that a background check and other clearances must be completed before volunteering.

Questions about volunteering should be directed to volunteers@paventcamp.org.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

PARTNER:  Partners are paired with a camper and help to care for their needs, get involved with activities or crafts, and generally buddy up with the camper for the week. Partners do not necessarily need to have a medical background, however, this is helpful for many of our campers.

JUNIOR PARTNER:  Partners ages 13-17. Paired with adult partner. Help around camp as needed.

ACTIVITIES STAFF: The activities crew is the creative aspect of camp. This group is in charge of all of the activities for the week including arts and crafts, games, talent show, etc.

TEAM LEADER:  Team leaders are nurses or respiratory therapists who are in charge of making sure the campers have all of their medical needs met including medication administration, feeds, respiratory therapies, etc.

STUDENTS: We also accept nursing and respiratory/occupational/  physical therapy students.  This is a great opportunity to advance your clinical knowledge.

OTHER ROLES: Physician, PT, OT, SLP

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE INFORMATION

Volunteers generally arrive the evening before the campers to help set up the camp (
Please don't arrive prior to 4:00pm on that Saturday -- Camp directors need to complete check in with the camp and then set up for staff check-in).  Staff check-in will be set up at the Welcome Center.

Campers depart on Thursday between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.  As a volunteer, we expect you to stay after your camper leaves to help with clean up.  PA Vent Camp is responsible for leaving Camp Victory the way we found it, so it is extremely helpful to have all hands on deck.
