PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers are required to complete a registration form and submit their up-to-date clearances. In the case of a virtually held camp, volunteers must also complete specific online training. During the registration process for in-person camps, they may choose from the following roles:
Partner: Partners are paired with a camper and help to care for their needs, get involved with activities or crafts, and generally buddy up with the camper for the week. Partners do not necessarily need to have a medical background, however, this is helpful for many of our campers. Junior Partner: Junior partners are ages 13-17 and must be paired with adult partner. They spend time with the campers and help other volunteers as needed. Activities Staff: The activities staff is in charge of planning and executing the activities during camp. These activities including arts and crafts, games, talent shows, dances, and more. Planning takes place via conference calls throughout the months leading up to camp. Team Leader: Team leaders are nurses or respiratory therapists who are in charge of making sure the campers have all of their medical needs met including medication administration, feeds, respiratory therapies, etc. Students: We also accept nursing and respiratory/occupational/physical therapy students. Volunteering at camp is a great opportunity to advance clinical knowledge. Other Roles: Physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists |
